Beginnings of the Kamfest festival

In the summer of 2003, the Municipality of Kamnik, upon the incentive of the Priden Možic Cultural Association, changed the palatium in front of the Mali grad Castle into an event venue which hosted approximately 10 events.

The Kamfest festival was first organized in 2004, and is one of the biggest festivals in the Municipality of Kamnik today. The Festival takes place in August and is an important cultural and social meeting point. Each year, the Festival tries to find hidden, overlooked parts of the city, and make them livelier with a varied programe. This attracts more than 30,000 visitors to Kamnik who can witness the unique collaboration between the Festival and different local performers.

9 days of culture with a view

The festival offers a mix of music, cultural and other similar events which have an important cultural, tourism, urban and educational function in the city. Kamfest takes place in different locations in Kamnik (Mali grad Castle, Šutna, the Zaprice Castle and the Keršmanec Park).
