One of the most recognizable parts of Volčji Potok Arboretum is a French garden, designed by the former owner of the estate, Leon Souvan.
Volčji Potok Arboretum is one of the most important architectural heritage gardens in Slovenia. In 1999, it was declared a cultural monument of national importance. The pearl of the Slovenian garden culture stretches along the streams and meadows south of the town. With nearly 5000 tree and plant species, it is wonderful in all seasons. Every year, from mid-April to early May attention is given to the tulips, which make the park especially vivid and colorful. Visitors can admire many other exhibitions, among others, also the orchids, cacti and tropical butterflies.
The Tulip Exhibition is traditionally one of the biggest events in Kamnik. From mid-April to early May park is covered with 2 million blooming tulips of all sorts and colours. Fields of flowers welcome you at the entrance to the park and accompany you during your entire walk. Enjoy in the stroll through carefully landscaped paths near the forest, meadows and along the lakes. Lush image of a flourishing park is complemented by a wide range of interesting exhibitions. Thus, you may casually encounter a dinosaur or a whale.
