Authentic Herders Mountain Hut on Velika planina, built according to the original architectural plan, retains its original modesty. The cottage offers the experience of a simple herder's life on the mountains. In the common room there is a wood stove and a small gas stove, a kitchen table, bunk bed for 2 people and a cupboard for storing food. From the entryway, a ladder leads into the attic bedroom, where there are 5 floor mattresses that can sleep 7 people. The cottage has a composting toilet. Tap water is available outside near the hut. The electricity is powered by solar panels and provides a low voltage (12V) for the lights and the radio plug. All basic kitchen utensils are available (silverware, cups, pots ...).
The Herders settlement is a fairytale like village where life is as it was hundred years ago. Simple huts offer basic shelter for herders and their cows. A unique arhitecture of the settlement and its mountain setting make it one of the biggest attractions in the Slovenian Alps. This makes Devovčeva bajta hut perfect for those who:
